Taoufik Abassi is a fisherman in Sidi Mechreg, the north-west of Bizerte. He started his career with fisheries in the 90s. For his fishing activity, as small scale fisheries, he uses fishing nets and small boat. In 2021, Taoufik developed a new business. He opened his own restaurant “Restaurant La cigale – Club Bleu Artisanal”, where he employs 4 workers from his family and 6 from his region. The idea of this new business emerged in 2015 from his partnership and alliance with Association Club Bleu Artisanal under the framework of the project Club Bleu Artisanal. In his restaurant, he serves different recipes of fish: grilled fish, fried fish, fish with pasta or couscous… Mr. Abassi is an ambitious and adventurous entrepreneur. Through his business, he seeks to improve his activity and fishing sector in Sidi Mechreg, to promote his region and to offer labour opportunities to young people. On FISH MED NET platform, Mr. Abassi wishes to improve the marketing of his restaurant and his knowledge on seafood processing.
