Société Perle du lac

Société Perle du Lac is a family owned business, composed by Sabri Boukoum, his father and siblings. Boukoum’s family is a family of fishermen who work at the same time on shellfish farming in the North of Tunisia. They are cultivating mussels and oysters. Shellfish are growing using the hanging culture method. They have a boat equipped to perform both activities (fishing and shellfish farming). Shellfish activity in this family has been inherited from father to son. Sabri’s grand-father started this activity in the 50’s. Then, his father, Mr. Othman Boukoum worked well on the improvement of this activity. In 2017, Sabri established his own business that joined the enterprise of his dad too. Through FISH MED NET platform, Sabri would like to market his products and to encourage pescatourism approach whis is still not allowed in Tunisia.
